Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 7 Adar Rishon*. I read with pleasure that you visited Maoz Aviv. Even though this visit had to be interrupted, I hope that you have maintained a correspondence with the place. Moreover, the influence that you exert there will now be strengthened, since your state of health has improved.

You mention the account of the mashpia* (spiritual guide) (see note 2), the Rashag (see note 3), concerning the response of the Tzemach Tzedek* according to which "one should not spread out" (see note 4). It seems that this is the one cited in the Chassidic* discourses of the wedding, second fascicle (see note 5). You will consult the words of the Tzemach Tzedek* on this subject.

You mention the customs of a yahrtzeit* (see note 6) for one who is in mourning (see note 7). From what I know, one adopts the view that one maintains the same practices as for all other yahrtzeits*.

May Hashem bless each person within all of Israel, so that one may announce good news of a visible and tangible good. And may the expression relating to these months (see note 8) be fulfilled regarding what is undesirable: "It shall be transformed" into joy and celebration.

במענה על מכתבו מז' אד"ר, נעם לי לקרות בו מבקורו במעוז אביב, ותקותי אף כשהוכרח להפסיק בקורו עמד עמהם בקשורי מכתבים, ובפרט עתה יחזק השפעה שלו שם כיון שכבר הוטב מצב בריאותו...

במ"ש אודות סיפור המשפיע הרש"ג ע"ה במענה הצ"צ שלא להתפשט וכו', יש מקום שהוא הסיפור המובא בדרושי חתונה קונט' ב', יעויין שם לשון הצ"צ.

במ"ש בהתנהגות דיארצייט כשחל באמצע האבילות*, כפי ידיעתי נוהגים כהאומרים שמתנהגים כמו בכל יארצייט.

והשי"ת יברך את כאו"א בתוכ"י לבשר אך בשו"ט בטוב הנראה והנגלה, והענינים הבלתי רצוים יקוים בהם כענין חדשים אלו, ונהפוך הוא לשמחה וליום טוב.
