By the grace of Hashem,
14 Adar Rishon* 5717,
Brooklyn,
Greetings and blessings,
I learned with pleasure, through this Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of many accomplishments, that you have set the date of your daughter's wedding, with the help of Hashem. May Hashem grant that it be at a good and fruitful time, and that they build a home that will be truly happy.
It is surely unnecessary to point out to you that the happiness of every person depends on the blessings granted by Hashem, the Creator of the world, Who directs it and bestows His Providence upon each one of us within all of Israel.
From this, one can deduce how necessary it is to base one's conduct on the teachings of the Creator of the world, as they are recorded in His holy Torah*. In such a case, one can truly expect to receive these divine blessings.
And if this is so at all times, how much more is it the case when one is preparing for a marriage and a new period in a person's life begins.
Accordingly, you and your wife will surely use your influence on your daughter so that she takes the firm resolution — and above all, puts it into practice — to observe all the practices that depend on her, so that her home will be directed on the path of Yiddishkeit* (Judaism), and thus know happiness. She will observe, in particular, taharas hamishpachah* (family purity), the principles of which apply even before the marriage and as a preparation for it, the kashrus* of food, and Shabbos*.
May Hashem assist you, so that you inform me of good news regarding everything that has been said.
With my blessing of Mazal Tov*, Mazal Tov*,
For the Rebbe Shlita*,
The secretary,
