Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letter from the conclusion of Shabbos* Terumah* and the one preceding it. In the future, you will surely continue to let me know what is happening, regarding both your communal accomplishments and your personal achievements.

I am astonished and particularly surprised by your assertion that you cannot decide to have recourse to this permission (see note 1). For this is not, in this case, your own decision, but rather that of our holy Torah*. And no distinction can be made between its laws.

I am even more stupefied by the fact that you assert, with equanimity, that you cannot make this decision, as though it were a virtuous behavior not to listen to the Rav* (see note 2). Nevertheless, what is done is done, and no doubt good will come of it.

May the merit of your activity for Jewish education and Chassidus* protect you, as well as your wife, so that in good health and with breadth of spirit, you educate your children to Torah*, to the marriage canopy (chuppah*), and to good deeds.

With my blessing for giving good news of all this,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו ממוצש"ק תרומה והקודמו, ובטח גם להבא ימשיך להודיע מהנעשה בענינים הכללים וכן בעניניו הפרטים.

ולפלא וגם תמי' גדולה מה שכותב שלא יכול להחליט על ההיתר, כו', כי אין ההחלטה תלוי' בו כ"א בתורתנו, ואין לחלק בין פסק לפסק, ועוד יותר פלא מה שכותב עד"ז של אי החלטתו בקור רוח, כאילו זוהי מדת חסידות שלא להשמע להוראת מרא דאתרא, אבל כיון שכבר נעשה ענין, בודאי גם זה יהי' לטובה, וזכות התעסקותו בחינוך על טהרת הקדש וחסידות תעמוד לו ולזוגתו תי' אשר מתוך בריאות הנכונה והרחבת הדעת יגדלו את ילידיהם שיחיו לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים.
