To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Nissan (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letters of 7 and 12 Adar*. I was pleased by the Chassidim's* invitation and your trip to Antwerp. May Hashem grant that this trip be successful, in accordance with its assigned objective — the spreading of the wellsprings (of Chassidus*) outward (see note 2).

No doubt you are preparing yourself (see note 3), in the proper manner, to take advantage of the approaching days of Purim*, in order to strengthen and develop the holy institution that you direct, and to spread the wellsprings outward. This is in addition to the inner content of this festival, as defined in particular by several Chassidic* texts based on the statement of the Tikkunei Zohar* that "Kippurim* (Yom Kippur*) is like Purim*" (see note 4).

May Hashem grant that you have, here too, considerable success, and that all obstacles and barriers disappear.

Moreover, we are entering the month of Purim* (see note 5), and our holy Torah* states that in its entirety, it "was transformed into joy and celebration" (Esther* 9:22).

This transformation means that even what is not a visible and tangible good can be changed by this month, to the point of becoming joy and celebration, including to our eyes of flesh.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו מז' וי"ב אדר. ונהניתי מההזמנה (מצד אנ"ש שי') ומנסיעתו לאנטורפן. ויה"ר שתהי' בהצלחה מכוונת להתכלית - הפצת המעינות. -

ובודאי מתכוננים באופן הדרוש לנצל ימי הפורים הבע"ל גם לביסוס והתפתחות המוסד הק' שבהנהלתו ולהפצת המעינות חוצה, נוסף על ענין יום זה, ובפרט ע"פ המבואר בכ"מ בדא"ח מיוסד על מאמר תקוני זהר פורים כפורים, ויה"ר שיהי' גם זה בהצלחה מופלגה ויבטלו כל הענינים המונעים ומעכבים.

ובפרט שנכנסים אנו לחדש הפורים, אשר עליו אומרת תוה"ק החדש - ז. א. כל ימי החדש - אשר נהפך וגו' לשמחה וליום טוב.

וענין נהפך, תוכנו הוא אשר גם הענינים שאינם בטוב הנראה והנגלה, מסוגל חדש זה להפכם לשמחה וליום טוב נראים לעיני בשר.
