Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 23 Adar Rishon*, in which you briefly describe what has happened to you, as well as to your family.

In accordance with your request, I will mention your names at the holy resting place (Ohel*) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that you obtain the fulfillment of your needs.

If you have kept a copy of your letter, reread it once more, so as to perceive its deeper dimension. Thank Hashem, you belong to a people whose members are described as "believers, children of believers." This description therefore applies to you as well. And this thought alone should suffice to rapidly rid yourself of all the thoughts of doubt suggested to you from the outside, by a foreign and hostile environment.

Haste in this matter is important. Indeed, as you write, you have the ability to influence a certain group and to draw them close to our Father Who is in Heaven. Every moment is therefore particularly precious, since it has an impact on many other people.

Your military service must have accustomed you to obedience — to carrying out an order before even having understood it, as long as it emanates from a superior, whatever his rank, even though he himself was appointed by men. How much more so must this be the case when it comes to carrying out the Command of the King, King of kings, the Holy One, blessed be He. This is self-evident.

Regarding such doubts, it is preferable and wise not to engage in discussions, including with yourself, for it is said: "Elokim made man upright, but they sought many calculations" (Koheles* 7:29). It is thus in this manner that you will free yourself from doubts — that you will advance confidently on the path of the King of the world, as He taught it to us in His Torah*, Torah* of life.

I would be happy to receive from you good news of your advancement on this path and of your settling in, enabling you to earn a good livelihood.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ג אד"ר, בו כותב ראשי פרקים מאשר עבר עליו ועל משפחתו.

וכבקשתו אזכירם בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להמצטרך להם.

באם נשמר אצלו העתק מכתבו, ויעבור עליו עוד הפעם, יראה בפנימיות מכתבו אשר תודה לאל חבר הוא לעם הנקראים מאמינים בני מאמינים, גם הוא מאמין בן מאמין, אשר עצם הכרה זו ממהרת להפטר כליל מרעיונות של ספק הבאים מבחוץ מסביבה זרה ומסביבה מנגדת, וביחוד חשובה המהירות בזה, כיון שכפי כתבו יש בידו יכולת להשפיע בחוג מסוגים לקרבו לאבינו שבשמים, שלכן כל רגע יקר הוא ביותר וביותר כיון שנוגע לרבים, והרי שירותו בצבא צריך הי' להרגילו בהענין דקבלת עול מילוי פקודה גם קודם הבנת מטרת הפקודה, ובלבד שתבוא ממי שעומד למעלה הימנו עכ"פ באיזה דרגא, לו יהא אפילו ע"פ מינוי בני אדם, עאכו"כ כשהדברים מכוונים למילוי פקודתו של מלך מה"מ הקב"ה, וק"ל. ובספיקות כהאמור הטוב והנכון ביותר הוא מבלי להכנס בפלפולים אפילו לא בפלפולים עם עצמו, וע"ד שנאמר עשה האלקים את האדם ישר והמה בקשו חשבונות רבים, אשר עי"ז תמהר גם שחרורו מהספיקות, וילך לבטח דרכו דרך מלכו של עולם כפי שהורנו בתורתו תורת חיים, ואשמח לקבל ממנו בשורה טובה שמתקדם בדרך זו וכן מאופן הסתדרותו בעניני פרנסה.
