Blessings and greetings (see note 1),

I am responding to your letter of March 5.

If you transmit to me your Hebrew name and that of your mother, I will mention them (see note 2) so that you obtain a blessing and the fulfillment of your heart's wish — in particular, that you succeed in finding a good match (shidduch*) that suits you.

One of the essential points enabling one to hasten the blessings of the Creator of the world, Who directs it, is as follows: when you find a good match and marry, you will conduct your home according to the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, as befits true Jewish women. You will observe the laws and principles of taharat hamishpachah* (family purity), kashrus*, and Shabbos*.

In practice, one can observe that all of this depends on the woman, the mistress of the home. And nothing withstands determination. Hashem searches the hearts, and if He observes that you have made this decision with the firm intention that it be followed by action, He will hasten His blessing so that you find very quickly a match that suits you.

You mention your material sustenance, and I am somewhat surprised by this (see note 3). Given the current situation in our Holy Land, there is a demand for those who can provide medical assistance, in hospitals and convalescent homes.

You say that one must speak Hebrew. No doubt you have already studied this language to some extent, and you will acquire the rest while working. But perhaps you are not searching for a position with all the ardor that is needed.

May Hashem grant that you earn your livelihood with success and that you give good news of this as well.

כאשר תודיע שמה העברי בצירוף שם אמה, יזכירוה לברכה למילוי משאלות לבבם לטובה ובפרט בענין שידוך טוב ומתאים, ומענינים העיקרים בזה שימהרו ברכות בורא העולם ומנהיגו בהאמור, שתחליט בתוקף הכי גדול, אשר כשתמצא זיווגה המתאים ותנשא, תנהיג ביתה על יסודי התורה והמצוה כיאות לבנות יהודים אמיתיות, בשמירת חוקי ודיני טהרת המשפחה, כשרות, שמירת שבת וכו'. ורואים במוחש שכל זה תלוי ברצון האשה בעלת הבית, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, וכאשר השם יתברך הרואה ללבב יראה שהחליטה בזה על מנת לקיים כן בפועל. תתקרב על ידי זה ברכתו ברכת השי"ת שתמצא זיווגה בקרוב ממש.

במה שכותבת אודות עניני פרנסה, לפלא קצת, כיון שלפי המצב בארץ ישראל עתה, מחפשים אחרי אלו שיכולים לעזור בעניני רפואה בבתי חולים ובבתי הבראה וכיוצא בזה.

ובמה שכותבת שצריך לדבר בעברית, בטח למדה השפה קצת והשאר הרי אפשר ללמוד גם במשך עבודתה, ואפשר שאינה מחפשת משרה במרץ הדרוש, ויהי רצון שגם בעניני פרנסה תצליח ותבשר טוב.
