By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 5 Adar Sheini*.

At an auspicious moment, I will mention the name of your daughter, may Hashem grant her long life, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that she have a speedy and complete recovery.

You tell me that you are prepared to commit to certain additional practices (see note 1). In my opinion, a commitment suited to the needs and necessity of the moment is the effort to spread the wellsprings of Chassidus*, until they reach the outside.

Of course, I am referring to Chabad* Chassidus*, which has an influence on those who attend yeshivos* and are accustomed to commenting and explaining. Now, such an approach is also necessary for Chassidus*, and this exists solely in Chabad* Chassidus* (see note 2).

It is said that "a man's wife is like his own body." It would therefore be good for your daughter's husband to also commit to a daily study of Chassidus*, which the holy Zohar* calls "the tree of life" and "the soul of the Torah*." Over it, all negative elements have no hold, as the Raya Mehemna* states, cited in the well-known passage of Iggeres HaKodesh* of the Alter Rebbe*.

The Holy One, blessed be He, Who acts "measure for measure" (see note 3), will thereby strengthen the vitality of those who are close to you. This is self-evident.

With my blessing for giving good news of all this,

בעת רצון אזכיר את בתו... שתליט"א על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע לרפו"ק ולרפו"ש.

ובמ"ש שהוא הי' מקבל ע"ע איזה ענינים והוספה לדעתי קבלה מתאימה בהתאם לדרישת והכרח השעה היא השתדלות בהפצת מעינות תורת החסידות (עד שיגיעו גם) חוצה, ומובן שכוונתי לחסידות חב"ד, כיון שיש לו השפעה בתוככי בני הישיבה הרגילים לביאורים והסברות גם לימוד החסידות צ"ל באופן כזה, והוא ימצא רק בחסידות חב"ד, ומה טוב שגם בעל בתו שי', דאשתו כגופו דמיא, יקבע בכל יום לימוד בתורת החסידות הנקראת בזהר הק' אילנא דחייא ונשמתא דאורייתא ולית תמן אחיזה לכל ענינים הבלתי רצוים (כדברי רעיא מהימנא ומובא גם באגרת הקדש לרבנו הזקן הידוע), ובמדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה יתוסף בעניני חיות גם להקרובים אליו, וק"ל.
