To the leaders of the Chabad* women and girls
belonging to the group of Bnei Brak*,
may Hashem grant you long life,

Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 2 Adar Sheini* and to the one that preceded it. You tell me that the activities of your group have weakened and you ask me what should be done so that this group will endure in the future (see note 1).

It is quite evident that if, in every place and at every time, our Sages* have demanded that one ascend in the domain of holiness, how much more so is this the case during the present era and in our Holy Land.

There is not a shadow of a doubt regarding this, and it means that your group must endure — indeed, it must grow. There are surely women and men who can act to ensure this. Without a doubt, the means and methods to achieve it must exist.

All of this depends on the conditions of the locale and especially on the nature of the people. It would therefore be advisable for you all to gather together, in order to establish a program intended to renew these activities in the future and to develop them for the future.

In this way, one may hope that those who formerly were part of the leadership of this group and then, for a certain reason, weakened their participation, will once again take up their functions.

As has been said, it is necessary to broaden and develop this group. To that end, its activities should also be multiplied. And all of this depends only on your determination, for the capabilities are not lacking.

Moreover, the days of Purim* are approaching. They have the property of illuminating the world and of underscoring once again the primordial role of the Jewish woman (see note 2), including when: "I will hide (see note 3) My Face on that day" (see note 4). In such a situation, a woman, through her actions, can accomplish fabulous and grandiose achievements. This is self-evident.

With my blessing to give very soon good news of all this, and for a joyous Purim*,

במענה על מכתבן מב' אדר ב' והקודמו, בו כותבות אודות הרפיון שנראה בפעולות הסניף ושואלות עצה בזה מה לעשות בכדי שיהי' הסניף קיים גם להבא.

ומובן ופשוט שאם בכל זמנים והמקומות ציוו רז"ל מעלין בקדש, על אחת כמה וכמה בתקופתנו זו ובארץ הקדושה, וכיון שאין כל ספר בזה, ז. א. שהסניף צריך להיות קיים ואדרבה עוד להתפתח, בודאי ישנם הנשים והאנשים שיכולים להביא זה לידי פועל וישנם האופנים והדרכים. וכיון שדברים אלו תלוים בתנאי המקום ובפרטי האישים, מהנכון הוא שתתאספנה כולן יחד לטכס עצה איך להחיות הפעולות להבא ולפתחן, ואז הרי אפשר שגם אלו שהיו מקודם בהנהלת הסניף ומסיבה נחלשה השתתפותן, תחזורנה לעבודתן בסניף, וכיון שכנ"ל צריך לפתחו ולהגדילו יתוספו עליהן וגם בפעולותיהן ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון, כי היכולת ישנה במילואה.

ובפרט שימי הפורים ממשמשים ובאים וסגולתן להאיר בעולם ולעורר עוד הפעם כמה גדול כחה של אשה הישראלית, ואפילו בזמן דהסתר אסתיר פני ביום ההוא, אפשר לה להאשה בפעולותי' לעשות גדולות וגם נצורות, וק"ל.
