Igrot Kodesh · Letter 5282 — Health

Volume 14 · Letter 540 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu

By the grace of Hashem,

16 Adar Sheini* 5717,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
devotes himself to communal needs,
of many accomplishments,
Rav Shlomo (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter in its time, and I have now just learned of the success of the Purim* activity and your warm participation.

May Hashem grant that you fulfill, together with the members of your family, the directive that one ascends in holiness, in good health, with breadth of mind, and in material abundance.

And all together, we will merit to strengthen and develop the holy institutions of Chabad* Lubavitch, in every place where they are found, in keeping with the needs of the moment and the locale, which are ever increasing.

Hashem grants the ability to act in this way, from His full, open, holy, and generous hand. Everything therefore depends on the will of man, who will not be affected by the obstacles and difficulties he faces — all the more so since, for the most part, these are merely appearances and do not correspond to reality. You should carry out these actions with a whole heart and in joy. The success will be increased all the more thereby (see note 2).

We have lived through the days of Purim*, which deliver this same teaching. In the end, the barriers and impediments, the veils and obstacles, no longer disturb. They even come to one's aid. For the Torah* says, regarding the entire month of Purim*, of all the days that compose it, that "it was transformed for them" into joy and celebration.

The significance of this transformation is as follows. This month is capable of changing what was not, from the outset, a visible and tangible good, into joy and celebration, which one can observe with one's eyes of flesh.

With my blessing for giving good news,

P.S.: The account is correct. I received it and thank you.
