To the young Naftali (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have not had news from you for a very long time. I hope that you continue to participate in Torah* classes, particularly those of Chassidus*. Hashem has granted you the ability to influence others through writing and editing (see note 2) — that is, by reaching the broadest circle of Jews. No doubt you are using this ability in pursuit of this goal — meaning, in the well-known expression, to spread the wellsprings of Chassidus* until they reach the outside.

There are no words to explain how important this is, and one can concretely verify that it results in great moral satisfaction.

I hope to learn that you are multiplying such actions, for others and for yourself, in accordance with the statement of the prophet that "one extends bread to the hungry," "one brings into one's home those who are poor and unfortunate," "one covers the one who is unclothed," but, despite all of this, "you shall not turn away from your own flesh" (see note 3).

You are surely participating in the gatherings of the Chassidim*, in general, and that of Kfar Chabad*, in particular.

With my blessing for giving good news of all this,

זה מזמן שלא נתקבל ממנו כל ידיעות, ותקותי אשר ממשיך בהשתתפותו בשיעורי תורה הנלמדים ומהם גם בשיעורי תורת החסידות, וכיון שחוננו השי"ת בכשרון השפעה על הזולת ע"י כתיבה ודבריו נדפסים, ז. א. מגיעים לחוג רחב של אחב"י, בטח שגם צנור זה מנצל לתכלית האמורה, ובלשון הידוע, הפצת מעינות חסידות עד שיגיעו גם חוצה.

גודל הזכות של פעולה זו אין די באר, ורואים במוחש אשר גם סיפוק נפשי גדול נגרם עי"ז, וינעם לי להוודע ממנו אשר הולך ומוסיף בפעולות האמורות בהנוגע לזולתו ובהנוגע לעצמו, וכהוראת הנביא אשר אפילו זה הפורס לרעב לחמו ועניים מרודים מביא בית, וכשרואה ערום מכסהו, בכל זה מבשרך לא תתעלם.

בטח משתתף בהתועדות אנ"ש בכלל ובהתועדות בכפר חב"ד ביחוד.
