To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Shlomo Zalman (see note 1),
Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, in which you convey good news to me — your marriage, which will be celebrated at a good time.
May Hashem grant that you build this home, with Mazal Tov*, at a good and fruitful time. You will live long days, good and pleasant years.
As you request, I will mention all those you cite at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.
You surely know the three studies that concern every individual, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. These pertain to the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*, and are well known. You have adopted them or, at the very least, will do so in the future.
With my blessing of Mazal Tov*, Mazal Tov*,
P.S.: I noted with interest, in your letter, that you are a descendant, in the fifth generation, of one of the disciples of the Tzemach Tzedek* and that you repeat his explanations of Chassidus* (see note 2). I would like to know whether you possess manuscripts or notes from his legacy.
You are the descendant of someone who spread Chassidus* publicly. It is therefore surely unnecessary to remind you that the merit and the responsibility of doing likewise (see note 3) fall upon you. And nothing withstands determination.

בהתענינות ראיתי במכתבו אשר דור חמישי הוא לאחד מתלמידיו של הצמח צדק וחוזר דא"ח שלו, ואתענין לדעת אם נשמרו איזה כתבי יד או רשימות מירושתו של הנ"ל.
בטח למותר לעוררו אשר כיון שהוא מיו"ח של מפיץ תורת החסידות ברבים, גם עליו הזכות והחובה להשתדל בכגון דא, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.
