Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of the second day of Rosh Chodesh* Adar Sheini* and to the one that preceded it. I sent you a telegram today, the text of which is as follows:

"The proposal to associate the vocational school for girls with the school of Slonim is wise. With my blessing."

Your letter does not clearly indicate whether the age of the girls who must be saved from the missionaries and everything that concerns them is relevant. Indeed, it is surely girls who will present themselves for this association. And if there are also boys in the school of Slonim, a separate building must be provided for them, at a distance, of course. It is clear that in such a case, there will be no association — not even for the dining hall.

It seems that the profession of seamstress does not permit one to earn a broad livelihood, given the current situation in the Holy Land. This is not the case for training in household management, which will, moreover, enable you to receive a subsidy from the relevant government agencies. If this is indeed the case, you may introduce this training, all the more so since it also includes sewing.

If the situation evolves, you will add hours of sewing instruction, so that the students will possess both specializations at once (see note 2).

With my blessing for success in your mission of immense importance and great value — the establishment of a vocational school — so that you redouble your ardor in this matter, in good health and with breadth of mind.

במענה למכתבן מבדר"ח אד"ש והקודמו, הברקתי היום וז"ל "ההצעה לשתוף בית ספר מקצועי לבנות עם המוסד דסלונים טובה, בברכה".

אינו ברור ממכתבן עד כמה מתאים הגיל ושאר הענינים של תלמידות דהצלה מהמיסיאן (כי בודאי שרק תלמידות באות בחשבון השיתוף, ואם יהיו במוסד דסלונים גם בנים, צריך בשבילם בנין בריחוק מקום כמובן, ופשיטא שלא בשיתוף אפילו בחדר האוכל וכו').

בשאלתן, שכפי הנשמע מקצוע התפירה אינו בר פרנסה עתה לפי המצב באה"ק ת"ו, משא"כ לימוד דהנהגת משק הבית ובפרט שעי"ז תתקבל ג"כ תמיכה מיוחדת ממשרדים המתאימים, ואם כן הוא יש להנהיג לימוד זה, ובפרט שבו נכלל ג"כ לימוד התפירה וכיו"ב, ותמיד אפשר - אם ישתנה המצב - להוסיף בשעות לימוד התפירה וכו' בכדי שתהי' להתלמידות שתי האפשריות גם יחד.
