in Buenos Aires, and at its head, the great Rav,
distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

Warm greetings and blessings,

On the occasion of the Festival of Matzos*, the time of our freedom, which approaches for us and for all of Yisrael*, for the good, I convey to each and every one of you my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival, for a true freedom — to be released from material and spiritual worries, from everything that prevents one from serving Hashem with joy and enthusiasm (see note 2).

One serves Hashem throughout the day and the night, in everything that concerns a person, as it is stated: "In all your ways, acknowledge Him." The Rambam* explains all of this at length in his Laws of Character Traits, at the end of chapter 3. And the Halachah* mentions it in the Tur* and the Shulchan Aruch*, Orach Chaim, chapter 231. You should consult these texts.

May Hashem grant that you preserve this freedom and this joy throughout the entire year.

In accordance with the well-known expression of the Zohar*, that Matzah is "the food of faith" and "the food of healing," I have arranged for Matzah Shemurah* to be sent to you from here, sufficiently early, so that each member of your holy community receives at least two kezaysim* (see note 3).

May Hashem grant that the saying of the Alter Rebbe* — author of the Shulchan Aruch and decisor of the revealed Torah, author of the Tanya* and decisor of the hidden Torah — which was transmitted to us by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, be fulfilled. Indeed, the Alter Rebbe says: "The food of faith is that of the first night, and the food of healing is that of the second night. When healing leads to faith and one thanks Hashem for having been healed, one was nonetheless sick. Conversely, when faith leads to healing, one was, from the outset, never sick."

לקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמיתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח - מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ועבודת השם הרי היא במשך כל היום והלילה כולו ובכל עניני האדם, וכמו שכתבו בכל דרכיך דעהו, וביאר זה הרמב"ם בארוכה (הלכות דיעות סוף פרק ג') והובא להלכה בטור ושו"ע או"ח סי' רל"א. עיין שם.

ויהי רצון שימשיכו מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה.

מתאים ללשון הזהר הידוע, אשר מצה היא מיכלא דמהימנותא ומיכלא דאסוותא, בקשתי אשר ישלחו בעוד מועד מכאן מצה שמורה באופן אשר יהי' לכל הפחות שני זיתים לכל אחד ואחד מקהלתם הקדושה.

ויהי רצון שיקויים בזה פתגם רבנו הזקן בעל השולחן ערוך - פוסק בנגלה דתורה - והתניא - פוסק בנסתר דתורה - ששמענוהו מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אדמו"ר הזקן אמר: מיכלא דמהימנותא - לילה הראשון, מיכלא דאסוותא - לילה השני. אז די רפואה בריינגט די אמונה, וואס ער זאגט א דאנק דיר ג-ט פאר מיין רפואה, איז ער דאך געווען קראנק, אבער אז די אמונה ברינגט די רפואה, איז מען לכתחילה ניט קראנק.
