Greetings and blessings,

On the occasion of the festival of Matzos*, time of our freedom, which approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for the good, I send you my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival, for true freedom, to cast off material and spiritual worries, everything that prevents serving Hashem with joy and enthusiasm.

And you will preserve this freedom and joy throughout the year.

Moreover, the service of Hashem, as our Torah*, Torah of life, commands us, applies to everything concerning a person, throughout the entire day and night, as it is said: "In all your ways, acknowledge Him."

With my blessing on the occasion of the festival,

I was pleased to learn that you have visited, on several occasions, the Talmud Torah* Beis Yosef Yeshiva* Lubavitch of Toronto (see note 2). It is surely unnecessary to tell you that one must assist this school, which is based on sacred values, make efforts for everything that concerns it, to strengthen and develop it in every sense of the word. It is certain that an emissary fulfills the mission entrusted to him. And every Jew is obligated to put into practice the divine injunction: "He will magnify and glorify the Torah."

Some time ago, I received a visit from Dr. I. Goldschmidt, director of the pedagogical division of the network of religious schools in the Holy Land. We spoke about the study program in effect there, and I asked him about your book, in English, "Culture and Judaism." I told him it would be good to make its content known to the teachers there. I was surprised to hear him reply that you had not informed him of its publication!

שלום וברכה!

לקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח - מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה.

ובפרט שעבודת השם, כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, הרי היא בכל עניני האדם ובמשך כל היום וכל הלילה, וכמו שנאמר בכל דרכיך דעהו.

בנועם נודעתי, אשר ביקר איזה פעמים במוסד ת"ת בית יוסף ישיבה ליובאוויטש אשר בטורונטא, ובטח למותר לעוררו על עזר והשתדלותו בכל השייך למוסד דחינוך על טהרת הקודש זה לביסוסו ולהתפתחותו בכל המובנים וחזקה שליח (שכל אחד מישראל מחויב לקיים ציווי השי"ת יגדיל תורה ויאדיר) עושה שליחותו.

לפני איזה זמן בקרני דר. י. גולדשמיט שי' - מנהל מחלקת חנוך ממלכתי דתי אשר באה"ק ת"ו. ובשיחתי אתו ע"ד תכנית הלימודים שם שאלתיו ע"ד הספר של כ' שהו"ל באנגלית "תרבות ויהדות" שכדאי להכיר את המורים שם עם תוכנו וכו'. וגדלה תמיהתי לשמוע ממנו שלא הודיעו כ' ע"ד הופעת הספר!
