Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 29 Adar Sheini*, in which you envisage different ways of settling in the future.

I am surprised that you do not mention the one that is closest to you — namely, studying at the Yeshiva* Tomchei Temimim*, at least for a year or two. Is this not why you went up to the Holy Land? Your success depends on your determination, for the means are granted to you.

Of course, you can pursue these studies with a specific goal, for example that of receiving rabbinic ordination. This does not mean that you will subsequently have a salaried position as a Rav. Nevertheless, it will serve as proof to you that your study is fruitful, that you are achieving success, and that you will be able to exercise an influence on your future environment, so that it conforms to the will of our Torah*, Torah of life.

When you complete these studies successfully, you will be able to consider settling in Kfar Chabad* or in an Orthodox kibbutz. In addition to your material work in the kibbutz, you will also be the one who guides others toward Judaism and Chassidus*. This is self-evident.

May Hashem* grant that you make this decision in the proper manner. Thus, you will see that the difficulties in achieving this result, as they appear to you at the present time, are for the most part imaginary.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ט אדר שני, בו כותב סברות פרטית הסתדרותו לעתיד,

ופלא שאינו מזכיר הענין בהסתדרות שהוא צריך להיות היותר קרוב, היינו שילמוד בישיבת תו"ת לכה"פ עוד שנה ושנתים, והלא על מנת זה עלה לאה"ק ת"ו והצלחתו בזה תלוי רק ברצונו, כי היכולת ניתנה לו, ומובן שיכול להיות גם לימוד הקשור עם מטרה מסוימת היינו קבלת סמיכה וכיו"ב, ואין זה קשור עם החלטה דוקא לשרת בקדש בתור רב עמלק"פ אלא בכדי לחזק ההכרה שמצליח בלימודו עושה חיל בו ושיוכל להשפיע בסביבתו העתידה הנהגה מתאימה להוראת תורתנו תורת חיים, ולאחרי שיגמור לימודו האמור בהצלחה, אז יש להתענין ע"ד הסתדרות בכפר חב"ד או בקצוץ חרדי וביחד עם העבודה גשמית בקבוץ להיות שם רוח החיה בעניני יהדות וחסידות, וק"ל, ויהי רצון שיחליט בכל האמור כדבעי ואז יראה שהקישוים שנדמים לו עתה בהגשמת הדבר רובם ככולם מדומים הם.
