To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,
Rav Yisrael Yitzchak (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Nissan, introducing the month of miracles and redemption, in which you tell me that you have just obtained your diploma for the shechitah* of poultry. I wonder whether this truly concerns only poultry, in which case your diploma is not yet complete. But perhaps this is the manner of proceeding in your region. In any event, it would be good to learn this trade in its entirety (see note 2), even if it seems to you that in the short term you will use only the shechitah of poultry. Without a doubt, this will not pose any unusual difficulties.

I read with pleasure in your letter that you visited the immigrant village from Tripoli. You will surely not content yourself with that alone. You will continue to strengthen your Judaism and to spread the wellsprings (see note 3) outward. In addition to its intrinsic importance, this practice is propitious for multiplying the blessings of Hashem in all your needs, as well as in those of the members of your family. If this is so for everyone, how much more so for young men, former students of the yeshivah*, sons of former students of the yeshivah. This is self-evident.

With my blessing to convey good tidings of all of this, as well as for a kosher and joyous festival of Pesach*,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מר"ח ניסן חדש הנסים והגאולה בו כותב אודות קבלת קבלה על שחיטת עופות, - וצ"ע אם כוונתו בדיוק רק עופות, שאז הרי אין זה דבר שלם עדיין, ואפשר כן הוא המנהג במקומו אבל לכאורה כדאי ללמוד אומנות מלאה אפילו אם בעתיד הקרוב נראה שיתעסק רק בשחיטת עופות, ובטח אין זה קשור בקישוים מיוחדים.

נעם לי לקרות במכתבו מביקורו במושב עולי טריפולי ובודאי לא יסתפק בזה כלל וכלל ויוסיף בהחזקת היהדות והפצת המעינות חוצה שנוסף על הענין העיקרי בזה ה"ז סגולה להוספה בברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך לאדם וב"ב, ואם בכל אדם הדברים אמורים עאכו"כ בתמימים ובני תמימים צעירים, וק"ל.
