To the young Avraham David (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

After a long interruption, I received with pleasure your letter of 28 Adar Sheini*, in which you briefly describe your life. May Hashem* grant you the success of being able to write to me good tidings of what concerns you personally and of your communal accomplishments. In general, and particularly among Jews, these two dimensions are linked. Consequently, I hope that you will not content yourself with the actions you mention. You will increase them and, without a doubt, you will thereby broaden the blessing of Hashem in all your personal needs. In particular, you will settle in a positive manner, materially and spiritually, and — the most important point — you will soon find a good match.

You are surely able to maintain contact with those you met when you were in the army. It would be good to take advantage of this to remind them of their origins, the fact that they are the descendants of Avraham*, Yitzchak*, and Yaakov*, which confers the duty to adopt a daily life accordingly. Indeed, researchers say that matter possesses an effective existence that is impossible to destroy (see note 2) — one can only change its form. How much more so is spirituality eternal, particularly ancestral heritage. This is self-evident. You will surely know how to find the words to explain all of this to them, according to their character and their understanding. May Hashem grant you success in this as well.

May Hashem grant that you observe results in all these domains and, for what concerns you, as a farmer in Kfar Chabad*, there where Hashem has commanded the blessing.

With my blessing to convey good tidings of all of this, as well as for a kosher and joyous festival of Pesach*,

החיים הרוחניים בבית הכנסת ,בתלמוד-תורה ,בבית ובכל הסביבה ,על
פי תורה תורת חיים ומצוותי׳ ,כפי שהם מוארים ומתעוררים ע״י האור
והחמימות של תורת חסידות חב״ד.
בעמדנו ערב החג הגדול והמאיר ,חג המצות זמן חירותנו ,הנני
מקוה שהחג יעודד כאו״א מכם ,לחזק את עבודתכם לחזק ולהפיץ את
המסורות הקדושות של הוריכם שהיו חסידים ואנשי מעשה .וזכות זו
בודאי תעמוד לכם ליהנות מהברכות האלקיות בכל המצטרך לכם,
בגשמיות וברוחניות ,וחירות אמיתית שהיא החירות מכל הענינים
המפריעים לעבודת השם בשמחה.
