To the leaders of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad*,
the group of the holy city of Jerusalem (see note 1),
may Hashem* grant you long life,
Greetings and blessings,
I have duly received your letter and your report. I await the continuation of your good tidings concerning what you write to me. May Hashem grant that these be in accordance with the needs and demands of the moment. As we have emphasized many times, the fact that such an accomplishment is expected of us demonstrates that we possess, from the outset, the capacities and the forces necessary to carry it out. Everything therefore depends only on the will.
Several Chassidic texts make a distinction between desire and will. Indeed, the former (see note 2) corresponds to pleasure, to the profound dimension of the will and, as a result, it is always present. You should consult, on this subject, the end of chapter 41 of the Tanya*, which accords with the Rambam*, at the end of chapter 2 of his Laws of Divorce.
May Hashem grant that all these actions receive considerable success.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבם בצירוף הפ"כ, ואחכה להמשך בשורות טובות בהענינים אודותם כותבים, ויהי רצון שיהיו מתאימים לדרישת וגם הכרח השעה, וכמו שנדבר זה כמה פעמים, שכיון שדורשים זה מאתנו בודאי שניתנו הראש היכולת והכחות למלאות הדרישה ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון, והדיוק בזה ע"פ המבואר בדא"ח בכ"מ בחילוק דחפץ ורצון, שהראשון שהוא תענוג ופנימיות הרצון, הרי החפץ תמיד ישנו, יעוין תניא סוף פרק מ"א והוא מתאים למ"ש הרמב"ם הלכות גרושין סוף פרק ב'.
ויהי רצון שתהיינה כל הפעולות בהצלחה מופלגה.
