and devotes himself to communal needs,
Rav Shneor Zalman (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your express letter, with what it contained, which I return to you with the present letter. You ask me once again about the effort necessary for your daughter, her husband, and their daughter to be able to go up to the Holy Land (see note 2).

This is wise and there is no reason to delay this effort. Moreover, we have just experienced the time of our freedom, when the Holy One, blessed be He, brought the children of Israel out from constraint into expansiveness, with joy and a high hand. One can therefore preserve the effect of all this for the days that follow. Indeed, our Sages say that when "these days are commemorated" in the proper manner, they are also "relived." This is self-evident.

When you write to your daughter and her husband, please convey to them my greetings and my blessing that all of this be arranged easily and in the best manner. The Creator of the world, Who directs it, will place them all in material and spiritual expansiveness, as well as in tranquility.

You are surely devoted to spreading the wellsprings (see note 3) outward. I hope that of this as well you will convey good tidings to me.

במענה על מכתבו המהיר עם המוסגר בו שמוחזר בזה, בו שואל עוה"פ בהנוגע להשתדלות דעליית בתו בעלה ובתם שי' לאה"ק ת"ו,

נכון הדבר ואין יסוד לדחות ההשתדלות בזה, ובפרט שבאים אנו מימים דזמן חירותנו שהוציא הקב"ה את כל בני ישראל מן המיצר אל המרחב בשמחה וביד רמה שממשיכים ענין זה על הימים שלאחרי זה, וידוע דרז"ל על הכתוב והימים האלה (כשהם) נזכרים ה"ה גם) נעשים, וק"ל.

ובכתבו לבתו ובעלה שי' מטובו למסור להם פ"ש וברכה אשר יסודרו כל הענינים הקשורים בהנ"ל בנקל ובאופן טוב ויעמיד את כולם בורא עולם ומנהיגו במרחב בגו"ר ומתוך מנוחה.

בודאי מתעסק בהפצת המעינות חוצה ותקותי אשר גם בזה יבשר טוב.
