To all the members of the community and those who pray
in the synagogue Anshei Lubavitch of Boro Park,
in Brooklyn, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I learned with pleasure and joy a piece of good news. Indeed, you have chosen for yourselves a Rav, at a good and fruitful moment. You have therefore established a rabbinical contract in the name of the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, of fine conduct, Rav Yitzchak Dov Ushpal. There is truly a double joy here, for:

A) The members of the synagogue and those who frequent it are conscious of the fundamental role of this institution, particularly in our era. Indeed, this role is now considerably increased compared to what it was previously. Consequently, the Rav and spiritual guide must be a man possessing great stature who acts with alacrity, so that the synagogue may achieve the standing required.

B) I have known Rav Ushpal Shlita* for many years. I know what education and training he received in the yeshivos* he attended. For several years, he had the merit of receiving directives from my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit shields us. Consequently, I have great hope that with the help and participation of the members of the synagogue and those who frequent it, he will be able to strengthen and develop it, to make it a luminous example of a synagogue worthy of the name — all the more so since it bears the name "Lubavitch."

Hashem answers the prayers of His people Israel and He gives the Torah*. Now, many classes in the revealed dimension of the Torah and in Chassidus* have taken place and will continue to take place in this synagogue. And Hashem has promised to bless those who take part in all of this, in all their needs, material and spiritual, as well as those of the members of their families.

I send you my blessing that this synagogue, its members, and those who frequent it rise constantly, from one level to the next, in all of the above. In accordance with the teaching of this period, one will ascend each day higher and receive the Torah with joy and in a profound manner, among all of Israel.

שלום וברכה!

בנועם ובשמחה קבלתי הידיעה טובה שבשעה טובה ומוצלחת נבחר לרב, וגם נמסר כתב- הרבנות, להרה"ג הרה"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ בעל מדות וכו' מו"ה יצחק דוב שי' אושפאל והשמחה כפולה:

א) אשר חברי ומתפללי בית הכנסת מכירים בתפקידו הכי חשוב של בית הכנסת בזמננו ביחוד, אשר גדל הרבה גם ממה שהיה בזמנים הקודמים, ולכן דורש הוא בתור מנהיג ורב איש אשר רוח בו לפעולות נמרצות בכדי אשר יוכלו להעמיד את הבית הכנסת על הגובה הדרוש.

ב) בהכירי את הרב אושפאל שליט"א זה רבות בשנים, ובידעי חינוכו והדרכתו בהישיבות בם למד, וגם אשר שנים הרבה זכה לקבל הדרכה מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא ישראל, בטחוני חזק, אשר בסיוע ובהשתתפות חברי ומתפללי בית הכנסת, יעלה בידו לחזק ולהרחיב את הבית הכנסת בכלל, ולעשותו דוגמא מאירה של בית הכנסת ראוי לשם זה, ובפרט לביהכ"ס אשר שם ליובאוויטש נקרא עליו.

והשם יתברך, המקבל תפלות עמו ישראל ונותן התורה,

שבודאי כמה שיעורי תורה בנגלה ובחסידות נקבעו ויקבעו בביהכנ"ס זה,

כבר הבטחתו אמורה לברך את כל אחד מהנוטלים חלק בכל האמור, בהמצטרך לו ולב"ב שי', הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות.

בברכה שבית הכנסת וכל חביריו והמתפללים בו ילכו מדרגא אל דרגא ומחיל אל חיל בכל האמור לעיל - וכענין ימים אלו - יעלו בכל יום ויום ויתקרבו לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות, בתוככי כלל ישראל.
