and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,
I have duly received your letter from this Friday, the eve of Shabbos*. I was today (see note 2) at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit shields us, and I mentioned there your name, as well as those of your wife and your children.
You tell me that your neighborhood is emptying. One must investigate how others have reacted when they were confronted with the same situation in the past. Perhaps it is possible to open a synagogue, even a smaller one, in the place where everyone is moving, presenting it as an annex of your current synagogue. In this way, the members of your community will not separate and will not go affiliate elsewhere. Then, little by little, it will be possible to transfer the activities from the current synagogue to the new one, without haste and without rushing. This is self-evident.
No doubt you took advantage of Pesach* to the fullest extent possible, and you are preparing to make use of Lag BaOmer* as well, which approaches — all the more so since this year, that date falls on a day (see note 3) when members of the community do not work and the young people do not go to school. This is self-evident.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מעש"ק. ובהיותי היום על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, הזכרתי אותו וזוגתו ואת ילידיהם שיחיו.
ובמ"ש אשר השכונה שלהם מתרוקנת וכו' - יש להתענין איך נוהגים בכגון דא אחרים במצב בכגון דא בימים שעברו, ואולי יש מקום לפתוח בית הכנסת אפילו בזעיר אנפין בשכונה שלשם מעתיקים ויקרא הביהכ"נ בשם סניף ביהכ"נ דעתה, והתועלת שלא יתפרדו הבע"ב ולא יתקשרו עם בית הכנסת אחר, ולאט לאט אפשר יהיה להעביר הפעולות מביהכ"נ דעתה לשם מבלי חפזון ובהלה, וק"ל.
בודאי ניצלו ימי הפסח ככל האפשרי, ומתכוננים לנצל גם יום הל"ג בעומר הבע"ל ובפרט שבשנה זו חל ביום אשר הבע"ב פנוים ממלאכתם והנוער מלימודם וכו' וק"ל.
