I greet you and bless you.

I am responding to your letter of this Thursday, in which you tell me that you have been offered a position as cantor for the coming Yamim Noraim* and that for this purpose you must pass an examination.

Your idea of traveling there by plane rather than by train is sensible, for it is a pity to waste time. May Hashem grant you success in this journey, which will be good for you and for the members of your family, materially and spiritually alike.

It would be good for you to accept an additional mitzvah* mission to fulfill there. Thus, during the few days you spend there, you will strengthen Judaism and its dissemination. In particular, you will deliver publicly words of Torah, of Chassidus*, and of encouragement toward the fear of Hashem, in the form of a discourse or a text-based study, according to the conditions of the place.

At a propitious moment, I will mention the name of your brother-in-law and the members of his family, so that they may obtain the fulfillment of their needs, material and spiritual, and that with true peace of mind and material abundance, they may lead all their children to Torah, to the marriage canopy, and to good deeds, illuminated by the light and vitality of Chassidus.

במענה על מכתבו מיום החמישי, בו כותב אודות הצעת משרת ש"ץ לימים הנוראים הבע"ל, וצריך להיות שם לבחינה.

נכונה סברתו לנסוע לשם באוירון ולא ברכבת, כי חבל על הזמן, ויהי רצון שיצליח בנסיעתו זו באופן הטוב לפניו ולפני ב"ב שיחיו בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

מהנכון שיקבל עליו עוד שליחות מצוה לשם, זאת אומרת שיפעול באותן הימים שיהי' שם בעניני החזקת היהדות והפצתה ומהם גם אמירת דברי תורה וחסידות והתעוררות ליראת שמים ברבים אם בצורת נאום או לימוד מבפנים וכו' מתאים לתנאי המקום.

בעת רצון אזכיר את גיסו וב"ב שיחיו להמצטרך להם בגו"ר ואשר מתוך מנוחת הנפש אמיתית והרחבת הפרנסה יגדלו את כל ילידיהם שיחיו לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים, מוארים אור וחיות חסידותי.
