To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Avraham HaLevi (Rav A. Horovits, of Jerusalem),

I greet you and bless you.

I am responding to your letter of the sixth day of Iyar, in which you ask me for a recommendation for your book.

Such is not the custom in the Rebbe's house. But Hashem, Who feeds each person, provides for the needs of all. He will therefore allow you to earn your livelihood generously, as well as the members of your family, from His hand that is full, open, holy, and bountiful.

You surely know of the three studies that apply to everyone, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. They cover the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*, the studies of ChiTaT*. You will adopt them, at least from now on.

P.S.: I am surprised that you write the word Iyar with only one Yud. Moreover, it is explained (see Igros Kodesh*, Letter 4288) that Iyar is the month of radiance, for those who illuminated the world were born in this month. The letters that compose it correspond to the initials of the complete heavenly Chariot, according to the Nachalas Shivah, chapter 7, and the Me'orei Or, at that entry.
