To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

You make reference to a teacher of secular subjects who must be recruited (note: for the Beth Rivka of Melbourne; see letter no. 4747). It is preferable that she be a non-Jew — who obviously has no other relationship with the students beyond the subject she teaches — rather than a Jewish woman who does not observe the Torah and the mitzvos*, who is nonetheless a descendant of Sarah, Rivka, Rachel, and Leah. And you know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that one cannot say about any Jew, whoever he may be, the expression: "Let him be differentiated from the others" (note: see letter no. 3229), which is what would happen, Heaven forbid. It is therefore very difficult to ensure that this woman will not be imitated, as can be verified in practice.

I await good news from you regarding how you utilized the day of Lag BaOmer*. Likewise, you are surely preparing a detailed program to make use of the approaching time of the giving of our Torah, to the fullest extent possible. May Hashem grant you success.

... בשאלתו אודות מורה ללימודי חול באם יצטרכו לזה טוב יותר אשר יהי' אינו יהודי, שפשוט שאין לו כל שייכות עם התלמידות לבד הלימודי חול שלומדת, ולא לשכור מורה בת ישראל שאינה שומרת תומ"צ שגם היא בת שרה רבקה רחל ולאה (וכידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שעל יהודי איזה שיהי' אין אומרים להבדיל ח"ו) וקשה במאד באווארענען שלא ילמדו מה מדרכי' וכנראה גם במוחש.

אחכה לבשו"ט מניצול יום הל"ג בעומר וכן בטח מכינים תכנית מפורטת לניצול זמן מתן תורתנו הבע"ל ככל הדרוש והשי"ת יצליחם.

בברכה בנוסח הרב הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
