Greetings and blessings,

After, once again, a long interruption, I duly received your letter of 20 Iyar, with the request for a blessing that it contained, which will be read, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place (Ohel*) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. In this letter as well, you say nothing about your sacred mission, nor about spreading the wellsprings (note: of Chassidus*). You mention only the most material concerns regarding yourself. It is clear that such matters can disturb a person and trouble him. But, at least to some degree, it is necessary that the mind govern the heart, and one must therefore make room (note: in the letter written to the Rebbe) to report on how one has spread the wellsprings outward and Judaism in general.

May Hashem grant that at least in the future, you adopt this positive practice. Thus will be fulfilled in you the teaching of our Sages, that "one who fulfills the Torah" and all that pertains to Judaism "in poverty" — material or spiritual — "will come to fulfill it in wealth" — material and spiritual. Of course, my purpose is not to moralize, but rather to emphasize the necessity of serving Hashem with joy and enthusiasm, which one achieves more quickly by adopting the conduct just described.

You mention your apartment, and you do well to move to another, more comfortable one. You inform me of your difficulties in transferring this apartment to someone who agrees to pay its full price. You will present the problem once more to the committee of the Kfar (note: Kfar Chabad*), with the arguments and explanations you gave me. If, despite this, they refuse to make an exception for you so as not to create a precedent, you will show this letter to the Rav and Chassid, Rav A. Pariz, who will grant you a loan of one hundred and fifty Israeli liras, which you will repay in monthly installments of five liras. The essential thing is that you actually move into your new dwelling, and that this be at a good and fruitful time.

שוב לאחרי הפסק ארוך - נתקבל מכתבו מכ' אייר עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, וגם בו אינו כותב דבר אודות עבודתו בקדש וכן מעניני הפצת המעינות, כי אם אך ורק ע"ד עניניו הפרטים החומרים. ואף שמובן שענינים אלו עלולים לבלבל ולהטריד את האדם, בכל זה, על כל פנים במקצת, צריך להיות מוח שליט על הלב עכ"פ להניח מקום פנוי להודעה ע"ד הפצת המעינות ביחוד והפצת היהדות בכלל. ויהי רצון שעכ"פ בעתיד ינהג במנהג טוב זה, ותקוים בו הבטחת חז"ל המקיים את התורה (וכל עניני יהדות) מעוני (עוני בגשם, או עוני ברוחני) סופו לקיימה מעושר (הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות). מובן שאין כוונתי להטפת מוסר, אלא לעוררו לעבודת השם בשמחה וטוב לבב - שמקדימין בזה על ידי הנהגה כהאמורה.

במ"ש אודות ענין הדירה - נכון במאד מה שמחליף דירתו לטובה הימנה. ובמ"ש אודות הקישוים שפוגש במסירת דירתו לזה שרוצה לשלם בעדה מחיר מלא. - יציע עוד הפעם את הענין לפני ועד הכפר בצירוף הטעמים והנמוקים שכותב אלי. ואם בכל זה לא ירצו לעשותו יוצא מן הכלל בכדי שלא לפרוץ גדר, יראה מכתבי זה להרה"ח כו' הר"א שי' פאריז ויתן לו גמ"ח של ק"ן לא"י, בתשלומין של חמשה לירה לחדש. והעיקר אשר יעתיקו דירתם לבית החדש ויהי' זה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת.
