I greet you and bless you,
You ask me about the allocation of tzedakah* (note: on how to distribute the sums devoted to it). Some have the custom of sending here, to the general fund, half of their contribution (note: see, on this subject, letters nos. 5195 and 5229), while they themselves distribute the other half. Of course, with the latter, they may also assist relatives and siblings.
May Hashem* grant that you increase your studies of the revealed dimension of the Torah and of Chassidus*, in addition to the three well-known studies concerning the Chumash*, Tehillim* and Tanya*. May Hashem* strengthen His blessing for you and for all the members of your family, so that, in particular, you may earn a more ample livelihood in the most literal sense.

... בשאלתו בהנוגע להפרשת צדקה - יש כמה נוהגים אשר החצי מהפרשותיהם שולחים לכאן לקופה הכללית, והחצי מחלקים בעצמם. ומהחצי שמחלקים בעצמם מובן שביכולתם לעזור מזה גם לקרוביהם ואחיהם וכו'.
ויהי רצון שיוסיף בשיעוריו בלימוד הנגלה והחסידות נוסף על שלשת השיעורים הידועים בחומש תהלים ותניא, והשי"ת יוסיף בברכתו בהמצטרך לו ולב"ב שיחיו ובזה גם הרחבת הפרנסה כפשוטה.
