To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav* Yechiel Meir (note: Rav Y.M. Lipchitz of Tel Aviv),

I greet you and bless you,

You write to me that you have been teaching for very many years. You therefore surely observe the hearts of the young. Consequently, it must be unnecessary to point out to you that at every era and in every place, the motto and objective of the Jewish educator must be the fulfillment by the students of the words of the verse: "Fear Hashem* and keep His mitzvos*, for this is the entire purpose of man."

But how much more so in the present era and in a land that all the nations of the world call the Holy Land*. This is the central and profound point of Jewish education, regardless of the subject taught and the method adopted. The educator must engrave in his mind and in his heart the desire to instill the fear of Hashem* in his students through every lesson. And this fear of Hashem* must express itself in daily life through the practice of mitzvos*.

The merit of your ancestors assists you, since you write to me that you are the grandson of the Rebbe* of Kostinin (note: Rabbi Yechiel Meir Lipchitz of Kostinin), who is well known for his love of his fellow Jews and his fear of Hashem*. Moreover, the merit of the public assists you.

With my blessing to convey good news of all this,

... כיון שכותב אשר עוסק בהוראה זה כמה וכמה שנים שבטח מתבונן ללב הנוער, בודאי למותר לעוררו אשר אם בכל הזמנים ובכל המקומות צריכה להיות סיסמת המחנך היהודי ומטרתו לחנך תלמידים ע"פ הכתוב את האלקים ירא ואת מצותיו שמור כי זה כל האדם עאכו"כ בתקופתנו ובארץ הנקראת בפי כל עמי הארץ ארץ הקדושה, שזוהי הנקודה התיכונה והפנימית של חינוך בני ישראל ז.א. אשר מבלי הבדל איזה ענין שלומד עם התלמידים ובאיזה אופן, צריכה להיות חקוקה במוח ולב המחנך השאיפה להחדיר בתלמידיו גם בלימודו זה - את האלקים ירא, באופן שיתבטא בחייו היום יומים, בואת מצותיו שמור.

והרי זכות אבותיו מסייעתו מתאים לכתבו שהוא נכד הרבי מקוסטונין אשר ידוע ומפורסם הוא באהבתו לבני ישראל וביראתו יראת שמים וזכות הרבים מסייעתו.
