By the grace of Hashem*,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter, with your request for a blessing, which will be read at a propitious moment at the holy resting place* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit* protects us. You speak to me of your son and tell me that you do not know what attitude to adopt toward him.

You know the teaching of our Sages that three categories of people must be drawn close with the right hand (note: i.e., with gentleness). A child is one of them. In this case, you should take counsel (note: see, on this subject, letter no. 5722) with a medical psychologist. Indeed, many times — and perhaps even in most cases — behavior such as that which you describe in your letter is of nervous origin. Very often, a doctor can intervene in such a situation. In any case, your description seems to indicate that expulsion from the home could worsen the situation, Heaven forbid, rather than resolve it. This is self-evident.

May Hashem* grant that you announce good news to me soon of all this. It is obvious that the more you yourself, the writer of this letter, and the members of your family strengthen your commitment to Torah* and mitzvos*, the more you will broaden the blessing of Hashem* — in general, and the fulfillment of your request, in particular.

במענה על מכתבו עם הפ"נ שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

בו כותב אודות... שי' שאובד עצות בהנוגע להנהגתו אתו.

וכבר ידועה עצת רז"ל שלשה תהא וכו' ימין מקרבת, תינוק. ובנדון דידי' יש להתייעץ עם רופא פסיכולוג כיון שכמה פעמים ואפשר גם ברובם, הנהגה כאותה שהוא מתאר במכתבו תלוי' במתיחת עצבים וכיו"ב, ולפעמים תכופות ביד הרופא להועיל בזה במדה חשובה. בכל אופן כפי הנראה מתיאורו, הגירוש מן הבית יכול להביא ח"ו גרעון עוד יותר בהמצב ולא תיקון, וק"ל. ויהי רצון שבקרוב יוכל לבשר טוב בהאמור, ומובן ופשוט שככל שיוסיף הוא הכותב אודות הנ"ל ובני המשפחה בכלל בעניני תורה ומצות, יתוסף בברכת השי"ת בכלל ובמילוי בקשתם בהנ"ל בפרט.
