Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, whose delivery was somewhat delayed, and which was then supplemented by a letter from your friend giving me news of the health of those about whom you wrote to me. At an auspicious time, I will mention them at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that each may obtain the satisfaction of his needs. It is, of course, unnecessary to specify that you should not content yourself with what has been achieved until now (note: with these individuals). You must multiply your accomplishments. Not only does the Torah* require that one know elevation in the domain of holiness, but moreover, no one is wiser than one who has experience. In practice, one can verify that every positive action bears fruit and brings success. Everything therefore depends on the one who gives the impetus and the encouragement.

You mention the visits to the settlements. I have already written on this subject to the youth of the Chabad* association. No doubt the matter was discussed so that each person could give his opinion. It is said, precisely, that "salvation comes from many counselors."

You also ask me about the Tefillin* of Rabbeinu Tam* (note: see letters no. 2279 and 5761). No doubt you observe the ritual immersion according to Ezra (note: after each conjugal relation or, more broadly, each day) and study the inner teaching of the Torah*, without having made a vow to do so. You will therefore begin to put them on. No doubt you will study and review the commentaries on the Tefillin* found in several works of Chassidus* — for example, the Likkutei Torah* Shir HaShirim, the Imrei Binah*, and the Derech Mitzvosecha*. May Hashem grant you success.

You inform me of your birthday, and on this occasion you have surely adopted the customs of the Chassidim* (note: see letter no. 4948). May Hashem grant that you have a year of success in the study of the Torah*, the practice of the mitzvos* in the best possible manner, and fervent prayer.

במענה על מכתבו - שנתארך קצת דרך הילוכו, ואחרי כן בא במילואים במכתב חבירו בהנוגע לבריאות אלו שכתב.

בעת רצון אזכירם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע כאו"א להמצטרך לו.

בודאי למותר לעוררו שלא יסתפק בהישגים דעד עתה ויוסיף עליהם כהנה וכהנה.

ונוסף על הציווי של תוה"ק מעלין בקדש הרי אין לך חכם כבעל נסיון שרואים בפועל איך שכל פעולה כדבעי מביאה פירות ובהצלחה ואין הדבר תלוי אלא בהמעורר והמשתדל.

במ"ש אודות הביקור בהמושבות וכו' כבר כתבתי בזה לצעירי אגו"ח, ובודאי דנו עד"ז בהתייעצות כולם יחד והרי נאמר ותשועה ברוב יועץ, דוקא.

בשאלתו אודות הנחת תפילין דר"ת - הנה בודאי נזהר בטבילת עזרא וכן לומד פנימיות התורה, בלי נדר, ולכן יתחיל בהנחתן ובודאי ילמוד ויחזור על דרושי התפילין אשר בכמה מספרי דא"ח (לקו"ת שה"ש, אמרי בינה, דרך מצותיך וכו') והשי"ת יצליחו.

ולהודעתו מיום הולדתו, ובודאי נהג במנהג אנ"ש ביום ההולדת, הנה יה"ר שתהי' שנת הצלחה אצלו בלימוד התורה קיום המצות בהידור ובעבודת התפלה.
