To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Moshe, Dr. Taub (note: see, regarding him, Igros Kodesh, letter no. 4738),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter from the eve of Rosh Hashanah*, and as you request, I will mention your name and those of the members of your family at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, so that you may obtain the satisfaction of your needs, in accordance with the content of your letter.

May Hashem grant that with breadth of mind and in tranquility, you may deepen your submission to Hashem, by studying our holy Torah*, by putting its mitzvos* into practice in the best way. You will strengthen your commitment in this regard, in accordance with the injunction that one ascends in matters of holiness. In this way, the blessings of Hashem will multiply in all your needs.

With my blessing to give good news and for a joyous festival,

You ask me for details about Rav Yeshayah the Doctor (note: one of the Chassidim* of the Alter Rebbe*, who was a physician; see the collection Yagdil Torah, published in New York, volume 34, chapter 91). You will consult, regarding him, the Beis Rabbi*, at the end of chapter 26, which also speaks of Rav Yitzchak the Doctor and Rav Avraham the Doctor. You will also see my notes on the responsa of the Tzemach Tzedek*, published in Brooklyn, at the end of volume 6, page 102, and the letter of the Gaon*, Rav I. A. Epstein of Homil, printed at the end of the Likkutei Amarim* published in Poltava in 5678 (note: 1918; it appears to be the Shnei HaMeoros), which states: "I wrote... he was right" (note: the Toldos Yitzchak Eizik reports: "I wrote that I heard the famous doctor, Mr. Yeshayah of Druya, author of a book of medicine in Hebrew that appeared recently, praise the medical knowledge of the Rabbi of Liadi. He specified what he received from him. This doctor overcame the trial he faced and he realized that the Rabbi was right").
