Igrot Kodesh · Letter 581 — Belated Wedding Gift and Pesach Greetings

By the grace of Hashem,

11 Nissan 5710,

To the young man, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem...

I greet you and bless you.

You are surely aware that the Likkutei Torah,[1] at the end of Parshas Naso, 29b, indicates that one must offer a gift to the bride and groom.

For an obvious reason, I did not attend your wedding. For the same reason, I am sending you this gift with delay, but you will surely not hold it against me.

I therefore enclose with the present letter, as a wedding gift, a Likkutei Torah*, and may Hashem grant that the blessings bestowed by my father-in-law, the Rebbe,[2] for all material and spiritual good, be fulfilled in their entirety in you and your wife.

Greeting you and wishing you and your wife a kosher and joyous Pesach* festival,

בודאי ידוע לו הכתוב בלקו"ת ס"פ נשא (כט, ע"ב) שנותנין מתנה לכבוד חתן וכלה.

מטעם המובן לא הייתי נוכח בחתונתו ומטעם זה עצמו איחרתי גם בהנ"ל ובטח לא יקפיד על זה.

ומצורף למכתבי זה יקבל לקו"ת דרשה געשאנק ויהי רצון אשר יקויימו בהם בו וברעיתו יחיו ברכות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ במילואן ברוב טוב גשמי ורוחני.
