To the leaders of the youth of the Chabad* association,

in Montreal, may Hashem* grant you long life,

A) After a long interruption, I have received your letter from this Friday. You refer to your intention to hold a camp reunion and to organize a celebration for Chanukah*. I deduce from this that the preparations have been carried out with the proper eagerness, so that both of these projects may receive broad dimensions. Indeed, one can verify concretely how greatly the perspective adopted matters for strengthening and developing various aspects in these areas, and all the more so the accomplishments themselves. A particular effort is therefore justified in this matter, even if it involves exertion. For this is not a one-time accomplishment, but rather something one can continue to draw upon afterward.

B) In general, a summer camp near Montreal is not only good, but also important and, in my view, even indispensable. One can verify this concretely in other areas. I have been writing and requesting this for several years already. I refer in particular to a new building for the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, as well as to joining the committee of Chassidishe shochtim*.

I do not know who bears responsibility for what follows, but undoubtedly you are already preparing the celebration for 19 Kislev* which approaches. In every shul*, there must be a Chassidishe farbrengen* at the appropriate time. This requires not only reminding the responsible individuals, but also counseling them on eagerness. If they request it, someone capable must come to deliver a discourse and provide explanations.

With my blessing to convey good news of all this, to succeed in your work of spreading the wellsprings* outward,

לאחרי הפסר הארוך נתקבל מכתבם מיום הששי, ומפרש אני כתבם ע"ד התכנית לכנוס של הקעמפ וכן בהנוגע לחגיגת חנוכה, שהכנות נעשות במרץ הדרוש ובאופן שיהיו שני הענינים בממדים גדולים, שהרי רואים במוח אשר נוגע בזה, דער שטעל, לביסוס והתפתחות כמה ענינים הקשורים בענינים אלה, עאכו"כ ענינים אלו עצמם, שמזה מובן שכדאי השתדלות מיוחדה אפילו ביגיעה, כיון שאין זה ענין חד פעמי, כ"א נותן אפשרית לנצלו אחרי זה.

ב) כללות ענין דמחנה קיץ בסביבות מאנטרעאל, לא רק טוב אלא שגם נחוץ, ולדעתי גם הכרחי, וכנראה במוחש משאר הענינים כגון זה, אשר כמה שנים שכותב הנני ודורש אודותם, וכמו ענין בנין חדש בשביל ישיבת תומכי תמימים, וכן בענין הכניסה לועד בהנוגע לשובי"ם מאנ"ש וכו'...

איני יודע על שכם מי מוטל הענין שבא לקמן, אבל בודאי כבר עוסקים גם בהנוגע לחגיגת י"ט כסלו הבע"ל, שבכל ביהכ"נ תהי' התועדות בזמן המתאים לה שזהו דורש שלא רק שיזכירום עד"ז אלא גם לזרזם, ושבאם ידרשו יבואו מי מהמתאים בזה לדרוש לפניהם ולבארם וכו'.
