Igrot Kodesh · Letter 593 — Chinuch & Spreading Chassidus Through Shluchim

To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

the Rav C. N.,[1]

I greet you and bless you.

I thank you for your letter of 22 Nissan, announcing good news to me — the fact that you publicly teach the Chassidic discourses of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and strive to have his teachings put into practice by the Chassidim and the students of the yeshiva*, so that each one fulfills his role and in particular guards the vineyard entrusted to us, that of the spreading of the wellsprings of Chassidus* both inwardly and outwardly.

You must, with all your strength, realize your project of sending young men to repeat explanations of Chassidus in various synagogues. I was particularly moved by your efforts to bring students of other yeshivos to study Chassidus, to guide Jewish children of all backgrounds onto the path of Hashem, by every means conceivable and possible.

If these activities entail expenses of moderate amount, please let us know and we will contribute. As you requested, we have sent you Conversations with the Young and Sifreinu, as well as a few copies of the Kuntres Etz Chaim,[2] which deals with this subject. At my request, Mrs. Horovits sent you eighteen Shekels for your personal expenses.

נא ונא להתחזק ולהתאמץ בהובאה לפועל את תכניתו אשר האברכים והבחורים שי' יחזרו דא"ח בבתי כנס' שונים, ומה שלקח את לבי ביותר היא ההשתדלות החזקה לקרב תלמידים מכל הישיבות ללימוד הדא"ח, ולהורות דרך ה' לילדי ישראל מכל החוגים בכל האופנים הנכונים והאפשרים.

אם יש איזה הוצאות ע"ד המיצוע בכל הנ"ל נא להודיענו ונשתתף בזה. שמועסן וספרנו נשלחו לו כבקשתו כן איזה טופסים מקונטרס עץ החיים בקישור עם ענינים הנ"ל. ע"פ הצעתי נשלח לו ממרת הורוויטש שתחי' חי שקל והוא על הוצאותיו הפרטיים.
