To the young Chassid*, the Rav ...

I greet you and bless you.

I reply to your letter.

May Hashem grant that you be a worthy vessel so that all the blessings, material and spiritual, granted to you by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, be revealed in you in their fullness.

You have surely seen, in the Hayom Yom* on the date of 11 Nissan,[1] the conduct one should adopt on one's birthday — particularly this one, since you are entering your twenty-second year.

You may consult Tractate Kiddushin 30a,[2] which discusses this age. See also the Laws of Torah Study by the Alter Rebbe, chapter 1, end of paragraph 6,[3] which cites the two opinions. But one may inquire into this.[4]
