Igrot Kodesh · Letter 621 — Shlichus
Volume 3 · Letter 226 · To: grand Rav
By the grace of Hashem,
Day after Shavuos*,
8 Sivan 5710,
To the great Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem,
the Rav B. G.,[1]
I greet you and bless you.
I received today your letters of 1 and 5 Sivan. The Joint sent us an amount of seven,[2] and what concerns Iyar has been transmitted to your wife.
Concerning current affairs, you have no doubt received in the meantime my letters of 3[3] and 5 Sivan, which explained why you must now go to Morocco. This is indeed the beginning of our activity, and Rav M. L.[4] seems to have difficulties structuring his action. Now, it is hard to advise him from a distance. Yitzchak Shalom[5] is going to visit this country now, and the first step is essential.
Likewise, it will be impossible to discuss the details of the action to be undertaken there before having evaluated the possibilities on site, and the help one can expect from the locals — from those who are capable of teaching and from the funds that can be collected. Indeed, there are people there with very great means who do not, however, intervene in this area.
You have no doubt received the booklet edited for the occasion of Shavuos. Perhaps you know whether Rav Ch. Z. Gurevitch set up an organization for Kehot Publications when he was at Rav David Bravman's.[6] I thank you for informing me on this. We wrote to him directly, but he has not replied. Perhaps he is no longer in Paris.
Wishing you all the best,
M. Schneerson
