To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

the Rav I. C. Z.,[1]

I greet you and bless you.

I reply to your letter of 3 Sivan, addressed in the name of all the Chassidim.[2]

I thank you for the good news of the existence of a yeshiva* in Shepparton, and for communicating to me the program of studies. I also thank all the Chassidim who have given of themselves, physically and financially, to obtain such an accomplishment, thus carrying out the mission entrusted to them by my father-in-law, the Rebbe. All must keep in mind that an emissary identifies with the one who delegates him (shlucho shel adam k'moso), and you may carefully consult on this Likkutei Torah, third chapter of the discourse "VaYikra." In this way, one will not be affected by any obstacle and, with Hashem's help, one will know the greatest success.

The proposals formulated in your letter to expand the yeshiva quantitatively and qualitatively are sound, and you will surely find the means to put them into practice. But if all your wishes cannot be satisfied, you must not be discouraged, Hashem forbid. On the contrary, you will redouble your ardor to come, as far as possible, close to the optimal situation.

One must take care not to misinterpret the effect of humility — a notion precisely defined at the end of the series of Chassidic discourses edited for Shavuos this year. When this is the case, you will fulfill your mission, filling yourself with the joy of the Mitzvah*, striving constantly to multiply the number of your students and of those who help you.

It would be good to introduce into the program of study the knowledge of the most usual halachos, which can for example be studied in the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch.

I went today to the tomb and mentioned your names there so that you will know success in your accomplishments and receive all the best.

I await good news of all that concerns you, materially and spiritually. You will give my regards to your entire community, which surely unites in the study of Chassidus*, in Chassidic conduct, and in adopting its practices, in accordance with the teachings of our leader, my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

במענה על מכתבו בשם כל אנ"ש מג' סיון,

תודה על הבשורה הטובה מקיומה של הישיבה בשעפערטאן ותכנית הלימודים ואומר יישר לכל אנ"ש שי' אשר התמסרו בנפשם, בגופם ומאדם למלא את השליחות שהטיל עליהם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, ובהיותם חקוק בזכרונם הכלל כי שלוחו של אדם כמותו (ויעויין היטב לקו"ת ד"ה ויקרא פ"ג) לא יתפעלו כלל וכלל משום מניעות ועיכובים, ובעזהשי"ת יעלו ויצליחו.

ההצעות המובאות במכתבו בנוגע להרחבת הישיבה בכמות ואיכות, אמנם טובות הן, ובטח יטכסו עצות איך להביאן להפועל. אבל אם אי אפשר להשיג את כל משאלות לבם לטובה, אין זה צריך להיות חלילה סבה גם למשהו של נפילת רוח, אלא אדרבא זה צריך לעורר לחפוש אחר חפוש למצוא הדרך איך להתקרב למצב הראוי להיות ככל האפשרי, ומה שדורש זהירות גדולה הוא שלא לטעות בפירוש ענין הענוה שצ"ל דוקא כפי המבואר בסוף המשך שבועות דהאי שתא, ואז במילא מתוך שמחה של מצוה יעמדו על משמרתם, יחד עם ההשתדלות התמידית להרבות את מספר התלמידים ואת חוג העוזרים על ידם.

לתכנית הלמודים מהנכון להכניס לימוד דינים הרגילים ביותר מקצור שו"ע וכיו"ב.

בהיותי היום על הציון הזכרתים להצלחה בעבודתם בקודש ולכל טוב.
