I am responding to your letter of 22/5 (note 1: Thursday, 3 Sivan*) and I am very surprised that a young man, from a Chassidic* family, indicates, in his letter, the secular date (note 2: See, on this subject, Letter no. 3802), whereas you said, that very day (note 3: In the morning prayer, before the "Song of the Day"): "it is today the fifth day of the week," in conformity with the Injunction: "Remember the day of Shabbos* to sanctify it" (note 4: According to which each day must be situated in relation to Shabbos*). Moreover, this day is, in addition, one of those of limitation (note 5: The three days preceding Shavuos*), preceding the giving of the Torah*.

You ask me about your pedagogical functions and whether you should assume them at the Yeshivah* or within the network (note 6: Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch in the Holy Land), in the program of border cities (note 7: Whose purpose is to create schools in these cities). It is astonishing that you pose such a question, for, at the present time, the latter possibility is a "mitzvah* whose practice cannot be entrusted to anyone else." You will consult, on this subject, tractate Moed Katan* 9b and you will contact the directors of the network. May Hashem* grant you success. With my blessing to convey good news,

במענה למכתבו מיום /5;22amp& (ולפלא גדול על אברך ישיבה מגזע אנ"ש ותמימים שבמכתבו יורה התאריך למספרם, בה בשעה שבאותו יום עצמו אמר היום יום חמישי בשבת, מיוסד על הציווי זכור את יום השבת לקדשו, ולא עוד שהוא בימי הגבלה דמתן תורה).

בו שואל בהנוגע לחינוך, אם יהי' זה בישיבה או ברשת בתכנית ישובי-ספר.

ולפלא גם השאלה, שהרי האחרון זהו במצב ההווה ענין דסוג מצוה שאי אפשר לעשותה ע"י אחרים, עיין מוע"ק ט' ע"ב, ויבוא בדברים עם הנהלת הרשת, והשי"ת יצליחו.
