Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6327 — Prayer

By the grace of Hashem*,
22 Sivan* 5718,

Shalom* u'vracha*,
After a long interruption, I have received your letter of 15 Sivan* and may Hashem* grant that, from time to time, the veils and the concealments disappear, not only those that are merely apparent, but also those that have a hold and exercise an effect on reality. With joy and enthusiasm, you will redouble your ardor for the Torah*, the revealed part and Chassidus*, for yourself and toward others (note 1: By spreading its teaching). Indeed, Rabbi Akiva*, whose opinion is systematically retained, underscores that the Injunction: "You shall love your fellow as yourself" is "a great principle of the Torah*."
One must also fulfill the mitzvos* in the best manner, in particular that which is their backbone, that is, fervent prayer, according to the Likkutei Torah*, at Parshas* Balak*, page 70d. The Kuntres HaTefillah* and various texts explain all of this and one knows the saying of our masters according to which: "One must submit to the truth" (note 2: See, on this subject, Letters no. 1544, 1558, and 2401). Now, the sayings of the righteous deliver a teaching to all. With my blessing to convey good news of all this and to know success in all that has just been said,

לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מט"ו סיון, ויהי רצון שמזמן לזמן יתמעטו ההעלמות וההסתרים לא רק המדומים אלא אפילו אותם שיש להם אחיזה וקישור במציאות, ומתוך שמחה וטוב לבב ירבה חילים בתורה (הנגלה והחסידות) בהנוגע לעצמו ובהנוגע לזולתו שהרי אמר ר"ע (אשר כולהו אליבא דר"ע) ואהבת לרעך כמוך כלל גדול בתורה ולקיום מצות בהידור ובענין חוט השדרה דכל המצות, ז.א. עבודת התפלה (עיין לקו"ת בלק ע, ד) לכל לראש, וכמבואר הענין בקונטרס התפלה ובכ"מ, וידוע פתגם רבותינו נשיאנו (והרי פתגמיהם של צדיקים ה"ז הוראה לרבים): פאר אמת ווערט מען בטל.
