To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Raphael Nachman HaCohen (note 1: Rav R. N. Cohen, of Kfar Chabad*. See, on his subject, Letter no. 5269),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I am surprised that you tell me nothing of the subjects that concern all the Chassidim*, in general. In fact, these activities are a channel and a receptacle for their personal concerns (note 2: In order to reveal the blessing therein). And, it matters little whether one admits this or not. In the words of the Rambam*, opinions are suggested by concrete practice and not the reverse, although, as our masters underscore, one should have taken an interest in general accomplishments, made efforts in this matter, tried to strengthen and repair them, even if they had not been linked to personal concerns. This is self-evident. May Hashem* grant that the Chassidim* finally become aware of all this. In this way, they will accept these general accomplishments with a benevolent and luminous countenance. Thus, an improvement will also appear in particular concerns.

We are currently living propitious days, preceding the festival of liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, deliverance of our master, head of Israel, and "the body follows the head." May Hashem* grant that the entire organism, down to the heel, receive the influence of the head in the proper manner. In this way, this organism will be integral and unified. The deliverance will be likewise and one will be able to serve Hashem* with joy and enthusiasm. With my blessing to convey good news and on the occasion of the festival of liberation,

ו לפלא שאינו מזכיר דבר בהנוגע לעניני אנ"ש הכללים אשר באמת הם הצנור והכלי לעניני אנ"ש הפרטים, והרי אין כל נפק"מ באם מודים בזה או אין מודים בזה, ובסגנון הרמב"ם שהרי הדיעות הולכות אחרי המציאות ולא המציאות אחרי הדיעות, אף שכפי ששמענו מרבותנו נשיאנו, באם אפילו לא היו ענינים הכללים נוגעים ובהם תלוים ענינים הפרטים, ג"כ צריכים להתענין בזה להתאמץ ולהתייגע בביסוסם ותיקונם וק"ל, ויהי רצון שס"ס תחדיר הכרה הנ"ל בתוככי כל אחד מאנ"ש, ואז יקבלו כל הענינים הכללים פנים יפות ופנים מאירות, ותיכף תתראה ג"כ הטבה בענינים הפרטים.

והרי נמצאים אנו בימי סגולה בימים שלפני חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, גאולת רבנו נשיאנו ראש ישראל, וגופא בתר רישא אזיל יהי רצון אשר בכל הקומה ועד העקבתא יומשך מן הראש ככל הדרוש ותהי' הקומה שלימה ואחידה ובמילא גם הגאולה שלימה ואחידה ויוכל לעבוד השי"ת בשמחה ובטוב לבב.
