I am responding to your letter, in which you briefly describe your life. You tell me that you teach music in a school and to private individuals. It is no doubt unnecessary to explain to you the words of the Mishnah*, according to which: "I was created to serve my Creator," by putting His Will into practice, by studying the Torah* and practicing the mitzvos*. Thus, whatever the activity adopted by a person, it is clear that the possibility is always granted to him to spread true Judaism and what pertains to it, to those with whom he comes into contact. How much more so is this the case in the relationship established between a teacher and his student. Indeed, teaching always generates a feeling of admiration, of respect toward the teacher. It is in this way that the student prepares himself to receive from the master, including outside the time of instruction. And, one can concretely verify that this is indeed so. Moreover, you tell me that your students, for the most part, are young people. Thus, every improvement in their situation will be maintained in the future, in particular when they build a Jewish home. It follows that every effort, every intervention in this matter is well justified.

You would like to join the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod, in order to study there and you describe the difficulties that prevent you from doing so. In fact, this question should be put on the agenda in a little more than a month, at the conclusion of the summer break. It is then that the studies will be organized there. In the meantime, some of the problems mentioned in your letter may perhaps be resolved. You tell me that you have contracted debts and that you will therefore have to work to repay them, even if you enter the Yeshivah*. You will discuss this with the administration of the Yeshivah* and it is said that: "salvation comes from many counselors."

May the Creator of the world, Who directs it, Who accords His Providence to each person, allow you to know elevation, from one stage to the next, on the path of the Torah* and the mitzvos*, the one that leads the Jewish man and woman toward true happiness, materially and spiritually. במענה למכתבו, בו כותב ראשי פרקים מתולדותיו ואשר מורה הוא בעניני מוסיקה הן בבי"ס והן לפרטים.

ובודאי למותר להאריך בהסבר דברי המשנה, אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני, והוא ע"י קיום רצון קונו, בלימוד התורה וקיום המצות, שמזה מובן שבאיזה מקצוע שיהי' שמתעסק האדם, ברור גם בו אפשרית להפיץ היהדות האמיתית ועניני' בתוככי אלה שבא עמהם במגע ובקישור, ועאכו"כ אם הקישור הוא יחס של מורה ותלמיד, אשר תמיד כל תלמיד רגש של אהדה וכבוד אצלו להמורה, שזהו מכשירו ג"כ את התלמיד לקבל דברי המורה אפילו שלא בשטח המקצוע, וכנראה כל זה במוחש, ובפרט שלפי כתבו תלמידיו במקצוע הם ברובם מהנוער, אשר כל שיפור ותקון מצבם, הרי זהו תקון ושפור בעניניהם בעתיד, ולכל לראש בבנין ביתם בישראל.

ומהנ"ל מובן אשר כל יגיעה והשתדלות בזה כדאיות הן.

במ"ש אודות כניסה ללמוד בישיבת תומכי תמימים דלוד ומפרט מניעות אחדות המונעות אותו מזה.

הרי בכלל השאלה בפועל תעמוד על סדר היום בעוד כחודש ויותר, לאחרי ההפסק של הקיץ, שאז סדר מסודר בישיבה, והרי אפשר שבמשך זמן זה יסתדרו איזה פרטים מאלה שמזכירם במכתבו, ובמ"ש שישנו אצלו חובות ולכן גם לאחר שיכנס לישיבה צריך יהי' להמשיך עבודתו במקצוע בכדי לסלק החובות צ הנה בטח יבוא בדברים בזה עם הנהלת הישיבה, והרי כמה אפשריות בסידור הנ"ל באופן שיוכל לקיים כל סדרי הישיבה וכבר נאמר ותשועה ברוב יועץ.

ויהי רצון מבורא עולם ומנהיגו המשגיח על כאו"א בהשגחה פרטית אשר יעלה מחיל אל חיל בדרך התורה והמצוה היא הדרך המובילה את האיש ואשה הישראלים לאשרו האמיתי הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות, וינעם לי לקבל ממנו בשו"ט בכל האמור.
