By the grace of Hashem*,

7 Tammuz* 5718,

Brooklyn,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letters. Now, we find ourselves in propitious days (note 1: The same letter was addressed to several people), preceding the festival of liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, the deliverance of our master, head of Israel, and "the body follows the head."

May Hashem* therefore grant that each one of us, within all of Israel, be liberated from all that is an obstacle, materially and spiritually. In this way, with breadth of spirit, one will redouble one's ardor in all the domains for which the one whose joy we celebrate gave of his own person. One will be able to serve Hashem* with joy and enthusiasm — above all, to form disciples who fear Hashem*, who study the Torah* in its integrity, its revealed part and its deep teaching, and who fulfill the mitzvos* of Hashem* in the best manner (note 2: See also Letters no. 3681 and 3687). With my blessing on the occasion of the festival of liberation and to convey good news,

שלום וברכה!

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו,

וכיון שנמצאים אנו, בימי סגולה, בימים שלפני חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, גאולת רבנו נשיאנו ראש ישראל וגופא בתר רישא אזיל, יהי רצון אשר כאו"א מאתנו בתכ"י יגאל מכל הענינים המבלבלים הן בגשם והן ברוח, ומתוך הרחבת הדעת יגבירו חיילים בכל אותם הענינים עליהם מסר נפשו בעל השמחה, ויוכל לעבוד השי"ת בשמחה ובטוב לבב, ולכל לראש בהעמדת תלמידים יראי ה' ולומדים תורתו תמימה (הנגלה והפנימית) ומקיימי מצות ה' בהידור.
