To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

Rav Eliezer (note 1: Rav E. Karasik, of Tel Aviv. See, on his subject, Letter no. 5682),

Greetings and blessings,

After a particularly long interruption, I have received your letter of 9 Tammuz*, in which you inform me of your positive desire to pay a visit here during the propitious days of Elul* and Rosh Hashanah*, which approach. You do not specify, but you have surely received the full agreement of your wife, the Rebbetzin*, may Hashem* grant her long life. Likewise, you surely know of the request (note 2: Formulated by the Rebbe. See, on this matter, Letter no. 5575) according to which such trips must result in a benefit for the greatest number. If all these conditions are met, Hashem* will grant that this visit take place at a good and fruitful time, of a profound good, a visible and tangible good, with breadth of spirit and in good health.

In your letter, you say nothing about the preparations that are necessary for the festival of 12 and 13 Tammuz*. May Hashem* grant that in this matter as well, the ruling of the Torah* be fulfilled, according to which "it is an established fact that an emissary fulfills the mission entrusted to him." Now, all the men of Chabad* are the emissaries of our masters, of our heads, of the one whose joy we celebrate on the occasion of this liberation, charged with illuminating the world through "the candle (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as through the luminaire of the Torah*, its deep dimension, as our master and head states in the letter he wrote for the first anniversary of his liberation. לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מט' תמוז, בו כותב אודות רצונו הטוב לבקר בימי רצון דאלול ור"ה הבע"ל בכאן, ואף שאינו מפרש אודות זה צ כנראה שזהו בהסכמתה המלאה של זוגתו הרבנית שתליט"א, כן בודאי ידועה לו הבקשה שבכגון דא צ שכל נסיעות כאלו תהיינה בהן תועלת הרבים,

ואם כהנ"ל הוא, הרי יהי רצון שיהי' הבקור בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, בטוב הפנימי ובטוב הנראה והנגלה, מתוך הרחבת הדעת ובריאות הנכונה.

אינו מזכיר במכתבו ע"ד ההכנות המתאימות לחגיגת י"ב וי"ג תמוז, ויהי רצון שגם בזה יקוים פס"ד של תורה צ חזקה שליח עושה שליחותו, והרי כל אנשי חב"ד שלוחים הם של רבותינו נשיאינו בעל השמחה של גאולה זו, להאיר עולם בנר מצוה ותורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי פנימיות התורה, וכדברי רבנו נשיאנו במכתבו לחגיגת הגאולה בשנה הראשונה.
