To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, of

multiple accomplishments, charged with a sacred mission,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 11 Tammuz*, with the request for a blessing that was enclosed therein and that will be read, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. You tell me that you have found a candidate capable of teaching at the Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* (note 2: Of Rishon LeTzion) that you direct. Of course, everything depends on his capabilities and on the manner in which he will adapt to the students. But you inform me of another point — that he already teaches in a school of the network (note 3: Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch in the Holy Land). You will therefore have to speak to them (note 4: To the administration of this school) about it, for it is clear that this must not result in any lack for these schools, which Hashem* forbid.

May Hashem* grant that you convey good news of all that is mentioned in your letter, which includes, of course, the situation of the Yeshivah*. I am surprised that you speak to me of your discouragement, on the eve of the festival of liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*. You surely know the commentary on the verse: "These days are commemorated and relived" (note 5: See, on this subject, Letters no. 5336 and 6396), according to which it is when they are "commemorated" that they can also be "relived." Now, the words, the deeds of the righteous, the lights revealed through their intermediary, are immutable. But in this matter as well, the effort must be joyful and enthusiastic. Trust in Hashem* will thereby be strengthened. And it was reported, at the Chassidic* gathering of this 12 Tammuz*, right here, the words spoken by the Rebbe Rashab* to his son, my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, on 12 Tammuz* 5655 (note 6: 1895), regarding the chapter of Iggeres HaKodesh* introduced by the verse: "She girded her loins with courage" and its conclusion. He explained that this courage is that of self-sacrifice, which consists of saying: "It shall be thus and it cannot be otherwise." The same must therefore apply to the Yeshivah*. It must exist and develop. Consequently, "it shall be thus and it cannot be otherwise." From that point, one will more easily find the means for it to be effectively so, as practice allows one to verify. With my blessing to convey good news,

במענה למכתבו מי"א תמוז עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ובמ"ש ע"ד מועמד ללמוד עם כתה בישיבת אח"ת אשר בהנהלתו, - מובן שזהו תלוי בכשרונו, הסתגלותו לתלמידים וכו', אלא שכפי כתבו נתוסף עוד ענין אשר מורה הוא בביה"ס הרשת, שזה מצריך התדברות עמהם, כי פשיטא שאין לגרום גרעון ח"ו בבתי ספר אלו.

ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל הענינים האמורים במכתבו וכמובן וגם פשוט בהנוגע למצב הישיבה הק', לפלא הנפילת רוח שכותב אודות ענין זה, בערב ימי הגאולה די"ב וי"ג תמוז, שבודאי ידוע לו פירוש הכתוב, והימים האלה (כשהם) נזכרים (ה"ה גם) נעשים, ואשר דברי צדיקים ופעולותיהם והמשכות שפעלו קיימים לעד, אלא שגם בזה צ"ל העבודה בשמחה ובטוב לבב, שבמילא בא חוזק הבטחון, וכמסופר גם בהתועדות די"ב תמוז זה כאן, דברי כ"ק אדמו"ר מוהרש"ב לבנו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, בי"ב תמוז תרנ"ה בביאור אגה"ק חגרה בעוז מתני' וסיומו, עוז איז מס"נ, מסירת נפש איז אזוי און ניט אנדערש, וכזה צ"ל גם בהנוגע להישיבה שמוכרחת קיומה והתפתחותה, אזוי און ניט אנדערש ואז גם מוצאים הדרכים לזה בקלות יותר וכנראה במוחש.
