By the grace of Hashem*,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

Rav Yitzchak Dov (note 1: Rav I. D. Kapelov, of Brooklyn),

Greetings and blessings,

Through the intermediary of the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, of virtuous conduct, Rav Yitzchak Dov Ushpal, I have obtained your request for a blessing, for you and for your wife. At a propitious moment, I will mention both of you at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that you may both obtain the satisfaction of your needs.

The merit of your participation in a public Torah* study will protect you in all your needs. Indeed, the study of the Torah* is one of the accomplishments of which one consumes the fruits in this world, while the capital is preserved for the world to come. Rav Ushpal writes to me that you are originally from Dabra, near Nikolayev (note 2: In White Russia). I would like to know whether you have memories of that time. You know, indeed, that it was one of the agricultural colonies founded by our masters. Many Chassidim* and close ones lived in that place, whose Rav was one of my close relatives. With my blessing to convey good news,
