Greetings and blessings,

It seems to me that in the coming weeks, examinations will be held for those following the teacher training program under the responsibility of the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav M. A. Zilbershtrom, and that you yourself are a candidate. It is surely unnecessary to specify that my request to act with appropriate eagerness applies in this matter as well, and that above all, you will acquire all the necessary knowledge. Thus, you will be able to use your capabilities to teach while in possession of an official diploma. Indeed, one must first produce the testimony that results from this diploma; then, subsequently, the interlocutor recognizes the quality of the teacher, even apart from this diploma.

We have learned here of a provision according to which one who possesses a rabbinical diploma obtains this diploma more easily. I hope you will not neglect this point either. Moreover, you told me once, it seems to me, that if you were officially a holder of the baccalaureate, you could, when the time comes, use your capabilities to spread Judaism in the manner just described. But a rabbinical diploma will inspire more respect on the part of those who become aware of it. This is self-evident. May Hashem* grant that you convey good news of all this. שלום וברכה!... ומענין לענין, כמדומה שבשבועות הכי קרובים תהיינה הבחינות של אלו הלומדים בקורס למורים שע"י הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ וכו' הרמ"א שי' זילברשטרם, שגם הוא בתוכם, ובודאי למותר לעוררו שגם ע"ז כוונתי שיעשה בזה במרץ המתאים, והעיקר שירכוש לעצמו כל הידיעות הצריכות ויוכל לנצל כשרונותיו בהשפעה בהיות לו גם סמכות רשמית שהרי התחלת הגישה צריכים לעדות של תעודה ורק אח"כ מכיר השומע במעלת המשפיע גם לולא התעודה, וכיון שנודע כאן ע"ד החוק שמי שיש לו סמיכות של רבנות ה"ז גם מעלה דרגת הסמכות תקותי שגם זה לא יזניח, ובפרט שכמדומה פעם נדבר שבאם להי' לו סמכות בגרות רשמית יוכל במשך הזמן לנצל כשרונותיו בהשפעה להפצת היהדות, ע"ד האמור, כי תעודת הרבנות תפעול רגש כבוד יותר אצל השומעים וק"ל. ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור...
