Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of the day of liberation, 13 Tammuz*, as well as the telegram that preceded it. I will mention your names, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in accordance with the content of your letter.

I am surprised that you act contrary to the current and evident custom, which would have it that after a visit paid here, correspondence becomes more frequent than before. Indeed, you have adopted the opposite attitude, and since your return from here, your letters are much rarer than before and much more concise. Admittedly, you may think that others will transmit the news, but this was already the case beforehand. And you know the saying of the Rebbe Maharash*, who says: "It will come from another source, but you will have lost the merit." And his son, the Rebbe Rashab*, specifies: "The merit of being an emissary of the Holy One, blessed be He, to do good to a Jew." Indeed, announcing good news is also a means of putting into practice the great principle of the Torah*, which is: "You shall love your fellow as yourself." With my blessing that you may possess breadth of spirit and that you earn a proper livelihood,

שלום וברכה! מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מיום הגאולה י"ג תמוז וכן המברק שקדם לו. ואזכירם בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מתאים לתוכן כתבו.

ולפלא שהיפך הנהוג המובן וגם פשוט, שלאחרי הביקור כאן צריכים להיות בקישור מכתבים יותר תכוף מאשר לפני זה, ואצלו הוא בכיוון הפכי שמעת חזרתו מכאן כותב בנדירות הרבה יותר מאשר לפני זה, ומכתביו קצרים הרבה יותר, והרי הטעם שבטח יודיעו אחרים הי' גם אז, והרי ידוע גם פתגם כ"ק אדמו"ר מוהר"ש, דאס וועט זיין ממקום אחר אבער איר וועט אנווערען דעם זכות, וסיים בנו כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב), פון זוכה זיין, צו זיין א שליח מהקב"ה טאן א אידן א טובה והרי בשורה טובה ה"ז בכלל ההודעה דכלל גדול בתורה ואהבת לרעך כמוך.
