By the grace of Hashem*,

Greetings and blessings,

After a particularly long interruption, I have received your letter of 24 Tammuz*, as well as the telegram that preceded it. I am surprised by so prolonged a silence. Even if you explain it by the fact that there is nothing new, such a state of affairs is even more surprising on the part of men of Chabad*. In a pleasant manner, one may recall that there is nothing new under the sun. Now, the objective of the Chassidim* is not to make efforts under the sun, but rather to rise to a higher level, as the Tanya* indicates at the beginning of chapter 40. And you know the saying of the Tzemach Tzedek* according to which: "We are workers of the day," charged with making light.

We have just lived through the days of deliverance, 12 and 13 Tammuz*, the liberation of our master and our head, the head of Israel. Now, "the body follows the head." May Hashem* therefore grant that each one of us, within all of Israel, be liberated from all that is an obstacle, in order to be able to serve Hashem* with joy and enthusiasm. שלום וברכה! לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מכ"ד תמוז וכן המברק שקדמו, ולפלא ההפסק כ"כ גדול, ואת"ל שסיבת ההפסק שאין כל חדש, הרי התמי' עי"ז גדולה עוד יותר לאנשי חב"ד, וע"ד הצחות, שהרי אין כל חדש, תחת השמש, ותפקידם של אנ"ש לא העמל שתחת השמש אלא למעלה מזה, עיין תניא ריש פרק מ', וכידוע פתגם אדמו"ר הצ"צ אנן פעלא דיממא אנן לעשות אור.

ויהי רצון שכיון שבאים אנו מימי הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, גאולת רבנו נשיאנו ראש ישראל, וגופא בתר רישא אזיל, יגאל כאו"א מאתנו בתכ"י מכל ענינים המבלבלים ויוכלו לעבוד השי"ת בשמחה ובטוב לבב.
