I have received your letter of 27 Tammuz*, with satisfaction. You inform me of your good decision concerning what you will do next year. May Hashem* grant that you know great success in the study of our holy Torah*, also called Torah* of life, which means that through it, one knows how one must live. Through it, Hashem* grants success and one can thus be happy, materially and spiritually.

And the study will be in accordance with the statement of our Sages* that it "leads to action," in an ever-increasing manner. And the blessings of Hashem* will also multiply. I hope that your example will have a positive influence on your friends, who will strengthen their commitment to the Torah* and the Mitzvos*. In this way, the merit of public service will come to your aid, including in your personal concerns.

בשביעת רצון קבלתי מכתבו מכ"ז תמוז, שכותב מהחלטתו טובה בהנוגע לסדרו לשנה הבע"ל. והשי"ת יעזור שתראה רוב הצלחה בלימוד תורתנו הק' שנקראת גם כן תורת חיים, הכוונה שעל ידה יודעים איך לחיות ועל ידה השי"ת מצליח שהחיים יהיו מאושרים בגשמיות וברוחניות, והלימוד יהי' כמאמר חז"ל - תלמוד המביא לידי מעשה, ויהי' באופן דמוסיף והולך, וברכות השי"ת - ג"כ באופן דמוסיף והולך, ואקוה שדוגמתך יפעול על חבריך להוסיף בתורה ומצות, שאז גם זכות הרבים מסייעתו, וגם בענינים הפרטים.
