Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6446 — Chinuch

Volume 17 · Letter 302 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu

By the grace of Hashem*,

11 Menachem Av* 5718,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Dov Ber (note 1: Rav D. B. Lewin, of Sunderland, England. See, on his subject, Letter no. 4299), the Shochet*, and his wife, Mrs. Rachel,

Greetings and blessings,

After a particularly long interruption, I have received your letter, in which you describe to me briefly the Chassidic* gathering of the propitious days of liberation, 12 and 13 Tammuz*. Of course, it is painful to observe, as you yourself note, that these gatherings, intended for the students of the Yeshivah*, are diminishing, for various reasons that can be understood. Given their importance, it would be good to look into the means of arranging and improving such a situation. Nothing stands before the will, all the more so since in the depth of their souls, these young men desire all of this, as various texts of Chassidus* establish.

Regarding (note 2: The first paragraph of this letter, addressed to Rav Lewin, is written in Hebrew. This one, written in Yiddish, is addressed to his wife) the preparation of the talks for the gatherings of the women and young women of Chabad*, you can make use of the "Conversations with the Youth," which have been published for several years and already number more than three hundred issues, providing rich material, especially if one works on it and develops it, as much as possible, according to the participants. Of course, if the reading of texts is poorly received, as you write, one must modify this practice, given the importance of what is at stake. You must make several attempts until you find the formula that is fitting. You will think of the reward that Hashem* grants in this matter, the fruits of which one receives in this world, and of the true satisfaction — that is, the Chassidic* satisfaction — that one derives from one's children. May Hashem* grant that you announce to me good news of all that has just been said. With my blessing for success,
