You ask me about a contradiction between what the Hayom Yom* says, on the one hand, and the Siddur* or the Shulchan Aruch*, on the other. Of course, one must follow what is said in the Hayom Yom*, which was composed later.

Regarding the Chabad* custom concerning the recitation of the LeShem Yichud* (note 2: A formula said, in the Chabad* custom, once a day, in the morning prayer; in other customs, before the fulfillment of each Mitzvah*), you will consult the Shaar HaKollel* on the Siddur*, chapter 6. Nevertheless, it is stated, at that reference, that no mention of it is made in the Pri Etz Chaim*. Now, this mention does in fact appear in the errata, at the end of the first volume. You will also consult, at that same reference, the gate of the Zemiros*, at the end of chapter 5, the Sefer HaLikkutim*, at Parshas Re'eh*, and the gate of divine inspiration, at page 12b.
